観光船の課題を解決する水中ドローン
昨年末から外国人観光客の入国緩和が始まりました。２０２３年に入ってからも、外国人観光客の増加が見込まれています。新型コロナウイルス感染症の拡大も危惧されているので、患者数や死者数の増加によっては、まん延防止法が適用されるかもしれません。それでも、各観光地は訪れる観光客数の増加を期待しています。
観光施設として遊覧船に必要な魅力
遊覧船は、それだけでは観光施設としてあまり魅力がありません。船に乗るため、船酔いをするかもしれないという不安もあります。観光客が遊覧船を選択するためには、船酔いの不安に勝る「特別な何か」が必要です。海難事故が発生しましたが、知床の遊覧船は雄大な知床半島の自然を海から見るという魅力がありました。特にキタキツネなどの動物は、海上の様子にあまり警戒しないので、遊覧船からじっくりと観察できるというメリットがありました。知床の遊覧船は、まさに「観光船」と言えるでしょう。
真鶴町にも遊覧船が就航していましたが、一昨年から運航しておりません。一応、新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行が運航休止の理由となっています。しかし、「with コロナ」となっても、真鶴遊覧船は運航再開されませんでした。多分、乗客数の減少や燃料の値上がりなどが原因で、運航再開を見送っているのだと思います。乗客数が少ない原因は、海上からの風景に魅力が無いからでしょう。何か特別な動物や植物、奇岩などがあれば、乗客数が増えたかもしれません。
何も無いなら、コンテンツを創り出すしかありません。
神奈川県の三崎港には、「にじいろさかな号」という遊覧船が就航しています。この遊覧船は、船底部分に海底観察用の窓が付いているグラスボートが使用されています。そして、「にじいろさかな号」は、「水中観光船」として大変な人気となっています。もちろん、三崎港付近には目立った動物や景勝はありません。「にじいろさかな号」は海の中を見せることで、「泳ぐ魚」を観光コンテンツとして、創り出しました。三崎港はマグロで有名ですが、マグロだけでは、観光客は来ません。漁港を観光施設に発展させるために、「にじいろさかな号」は大きく貢献したことでしょう。
水中ドローンの利用で、普通の遊覧船も水中観光船になります。
「にじいろさかな号」のようなグラスボートでなくても、水中ドローンを活用すれば、普通の遊覧船も「水中観光船」に変わります。普通の遊覧船を水中観光船に変化させるためには、次のステップが必要です。
１魚が集まるポイントを水中ドローンで探索します。
２魚の集まる所のビューポイントとして、遊覧船のコース設定を行います。
３遊覧船に大型ディスプレイを設置・固定します。
４ビューポイントの水深から水中ドローンの機種を選定し、ディスプレイに接続します。
５水中ドローンの運転操作に習熟し、映像観賞用の運転で、水中画像をディスプレイに映し出します。
意外と簡単な装備と投資で、普通の遊覧船が水中観光船に変化します。「にじいろさかな号」の例もあります。是非、水中ドローンの活用を御一考下さい。

At Misaki Port in Kanagawa Prefecture, there is a pleasure boat called “Nijiiro Sakana”. This excursion boat uses a glass bottom boat with windows for observing the bottom of the sea. And "Nijiiro Sakana-go" has become very popular as an "underwater sightseeing boat". Of course, there are no conspicuous animals or scenic spots near Misaki Port. "Nijiiro Sakana-go" created "swimming fish" as tourism content by showing the inside of the sea. Misaki Port is famous for tuna, but tourists don't come just for tuna. The "Nijiiro Sakana-go" must have contributed greatly to the development of the fishing port into a tourist facility.
By using an underwater drone, an ordinary sightseeing boat becomes an underwater sightseeing boat.
Even if it is not a glass boat like the "Nijiiro Sakana", an ordinary sightseeing boat can be transformed into an "underwater sightseeing boat" by using an underwater drone. The following steps are necessary to transform an ordinary pleasure boat into an underwater sightseeing boat.
1 Explore the points where fish gather with an underwater drone.
